About us

Thanks for stopping in! Our dogs have the highlife here at Shimmerin Star. They enjoy running in their one acre fenced in play yard, swimming in their own kiddy pools, and stealing things from mom! They spend a good bit of their time in the comfort of our home. Life can get really busy around here with all of our activities. With all the showing, handling classes, and soon to be agility classes, we hardly have time for anything else! We hope to have all of our babies titled in someway or another. How I got my start in Siberians

I have admired the Siberian Husky and had wanted one my entire life. Trying to make the right decision, I researched the Siberian until I was blue in the face. That only made me want one more. My dream came true one day in April 2001. I found this cute little black and white female with the coolest looking eyes. 1 blue and 1 brown with a stripe of blue right down the center. I knew she was meant for me, and decided to name her Brianna Nylea (now a fixed spoiled pet) which means strong beautiful eyes. They say you can see the soul of a dog through there eyes. I believe it.
Through these pages you will learn about the dogs I love. The ones that have stolen my heart. In return I only give them the best I have to offer. I have many plans for my dogs as I have mentioned and also, learning to sled with them. Yeah, I know I live in the south but you can sled with dogs down here too. You just put the sled on wheels!

I believe Siberians and Shepherds can be the most wonderful breeds out there, but they are not for everyone. I encourage all that are interested in either breed to study the breed and make sure they are right for you and your lifestyle. As with all breeds they have certain tendencies that need to be considered before making a decision. Please do your research.
